    Boil kettle size

Thanks for the dimensions mate I was going to aim for a 80L capacity. I was a bit concerned on maybe not getting a good enough boil to get rid of DMS due to the tall skinny size, if I go a head with this I might just do 90min as a minimum.

    Boil kettle size

G'day Brewers!, I've got a question about boil kettles?, I've got my hands on a stainless steel tank that I was thinking of cutting down so that I can do 50L boils. The dimensions are 360mm X 1500mm which will fit my frame perfectly. Would the long skinny type of kettle have any negative effect...

    Help with Mash/Sparge Volume Calculations

Hi bob, just try say a grain to water ratio of 3L/Kg, for this brew that's 16.7L of strike water, then you will have to add your boil off water to your final 23L witch should give you 26.6L pre boil?. So sparge with 9.9L, this is sort of how I use to work mine out, all I did was just sparge till...

    HERMS -Temperature

Ive got a bimetal gauge in the mash tun that "monitors" the mash temp, but I have a temp gauge on the outlet of the HERMS coil as well which I use to control the temp, and I only lose about .2-.1 deg through the mash but to answer your question where to control it front?, it should be on the...

G'day!, it's not a big issue but I'm trying to work out what, or if I'm doing something wrong.., the last few batches I've done I'm hitting all targets except my original gravity, I'm missing it by 3-4 points but I hit my pre boil gravity/ volumes and post boil volume but I'm down a couple of OG...
