    Brew fridge

it already has a STC (sic) built in. Thats the digital controller at the top. Generally the controllers on these are all generic. The operation of them should all be the same. Check out this operation vid on how to operate them. You may find out if the temp control is stopping it from getting...

12v pump for robobrew (1st gen)

Thanks. WE&L, similar pumps in Australia are abut $80. (Cheeky Peak/Kegland). $100ish if you upgrade to the stainless head. A bit more than Aliexpress, but atlaset I'm only waiting a few days and it wont make it to me broken as per some of the comments on Ali. So really, the 12v option is...

12v pump for robobrew (1st gen)

cheers, I'm sure that in the gen 3 version or any other commercial BIAB setup that such a pump as that one isn't in there. Surely they are running a smaller pump for recirc? A small 12v pumps around 5 litres a min. sounds bang on to what I need. Mofox, did you skimp out on Ebay and buy a...

12v pump for robobrew (1st gen)

Would a 12v pump be sufficient to run a sparge for the robobrew? The LBP would be overkill yeah?

How to calculate ABV after adding late editions

Cheers. So to follow up from these questions... Frozen pitted cherries, coconut chips, vanilla bean paste. I'm making a compote from these. I won't go into that particular detail at this time. The process for adding these will be adding the compote to the secondary. I'll be transferring to...

How to calculate ABV after adding late editions

How can I work out my final Alco content in this beer I'm doing? I'm brewing a porter and adding some fruit post initial fermentation in the secondary. OG is 1.052 The original recipe brings the porter in at FG 1.012. giving it an ABV of 5.25% I'm adding 1.5 kg of cherries (compote with vanilla...

Chocolate & "insert beer style here" recipes.

I'm putting together a pairing night in a couple of months and I want to theme it around chocolate styles of beers. I would like to have at least 4 on the menu. So far I've worked out the following .. White chocolate pale ale...

    AussieIPA Dark top, milky bottom?

A quick trip to Bunnings or your local HBS can get you a secondary. Welcome to the many brews

    AussieIPA Dark top, milky bottom?

I agree with what Mark said. If you can, let the fermenter sit for longer than a week or so. For my simpler beer styles, personally I would give at least 2 weeks. Do you have a second fermenter you can transfer to and get it of the trub? I go into my secondary after the FG becomes stable and...

Adding hop tea, but not steeped....

Thanks mate. I knew there would be a whole science behind it. I guess the only real way to compare the finishes is to create 4 batches. one dry hopped, one steeped, one w/ tea and a control batch without hops. I should also add in the Ph testing of the waters etc and give levels both pre and...

Adding hop tea, but not steeped....

I've been reading alot of late about adding hop tea instead of dry hopping during second fermentation or adding a sock to the keg etc etc etc. There are pros and cons for either option. The main thing I have noted is that when people add a "hop tea", the process that involves steeping your hops...

    Drewgongs Kegerator

SInce you've gone to the extreme of sanding the bejezus out of that cabinet, let me give you a couple of pointers to fake it to make it. I'm a french polisher by trade and when we use to get some absolutely destroyed pieces in, we use to cover up some bits with some nice aesthetics so suit...

    Upright Keezer 6 Keger

Re skin, my first one was the TARDIS. But I'm a printer and have those skills at hand. If you've got the skills, even a good paintjob will brighten up your day. My latest dream would be the Han solo in Carbonite design. That would be fn sweet

    Upright Keezer 6 Keger

Im gunna say because his cabinetry skills with timber far surpass his aluminium welding or metalwork skills. But upps to your build buddy. don't skimp on the taps tho. If there's the room for 6, then squeeze them in. And don't be afraid to do a little detail work on the fridge skin.
