    New Zealand Breweries And Golf!

If you end up near Timaru in the South Island, the DB Brewery tour isn't bad value - for $5 you get the tour (don't see much apart from the bottling line) but you get to leave with six pack of your choice. They distribute various beers from the same site - the Mrs and I went last time we were...

Beer Promotion @ Shorty's Liquor, Rhodes (sydney)

FYI if you're in the area or being dragged to IKEA on the day... Stopped in to grab a few beers yesterday (Erdinger Oktoberfest, Sam Adams Dark Lager & Erdinger Dunkel), and was told that on the 27th of October they're having a mini Oktoberfest including plenty of imports - sample 80-100 beers...

Ahb Glasses - In Time For Xmas

Mate, if you have an engraver/dremel etc you could scratch a couple of lines on the bottom (inside) of your glasses and see if that helps....

    New Toyota

Toyota's are hard to beat - excellent product both locally built and imported (Kluger assembled in Japan). I'm in the motor trade but not affiliated with any franchised dealers, however I do have various contacts at major franchise dealers that I deal with regulary, Toyota included - if you...

    Your Wife And Beer

My Mrs. bought me my first home brew kit as a father's day present, luckily I've never had the need to bring that fact to her attention - it's reserved just in case though.... When she started to complain about empty bottles soaking in the bath tub I mentioned the benefits of kegging and got...

Older Style Grey Soda Stream Co2 Cylinder

Just checking to see if anyone wants an older style SS CO2 cylinder (grey one with the venting screw) before I attempt to exchange for a new cylinder. I know some people fill their own and have a preference for these - would like to swap for the newer style. PM if interested.

    How About This Weather?

I woke this morning with no power - check the fuse box and it had been tripped. Flick the switch still tripping, trundle downstairs to the garage to find about a foot of water. Seems the keg fridge and/or fermenting fridge were the culprits - hope they survive. :(

    Ag Vs Wort Kits

I'm unable to compare a fresh wort kit to AG brewing as i'm not an AG brewer but can I echo the postive remarks above about the fresh wort kits, they do make a great beer - actually I haven't done a K&K since my first fresh wort. As much as I'd love to have a crack at AG I don't have the time...

    Black Beer

I've actually been unable to age anything yet - I pour my first glass about an hour after transferring to the keg. I generally wonder when the keg's empty how the beer would have tasted if was able to leave it for a month or two. So far I haven't had a dud beer though..... Has anyone else on...

    Black Beer

Steve, enjoy! Chris Taylor, guess it's been a long time coming.... FazerPete, not sure which section it really belongs in - it's an all grain fresh wort, I added water so posted in the KK section, I didn't do any hard work! Will definately take note of those kits you mention, has been a while...

    Black Beer

As I start to write this, I'm still gob-smacked that Ive avoided dark beers. I'm still green when it comes to homebrewing, however I think I've got most of the basics down pat, well apart from patience anyway. Last night after having a few APA's I decided to sample the stout I had bottled on...

    Beer Launching Fridge!

Not sure if this link has been posted here before. Seems beer drinker's (erm, is Miller light actually a beer!) can make anything. Not too practical if your not a good catch, especially if it's chucking a bottle of your finest at you.... great novelty though!

    4 Day Ferment?

I'm glad the contradiction was clarified even though QldKev took such great offence. Just "conditioning" would have been a better term than "CC'ing", especially since QldKev was replying to a brewer with "limited knowledge/exposure to the brewing process". I'm a new brewer myself and half a...
