Folks, off to Melbourne shortly with the family and wanting to visit a brewery (or 2). In order to get it past SWMBO I'm after recommendations for breweries (or craft beer establishments) that are family friendly (2 teens and 2 little ones) and do a good lunch. Any thoughts? Thanks, Mycle.

I wish! I'm just waiting for all my usual sources to get some in. A check yesterday revealed nothing. However the 02 I had last night was rather nice but not a patch on the 04. If the 06 follows the trend of more flavour and complexity then it's going to be a ripper. Mycle.

Funnily enough I found a case of the 02 in a bottle shop last week and bought it to stop me drinking the 04 (which is bloody fantastic already). Anyway if you want some tips on brewing your own, the following is from the press release on the coopers site...

For the Sydney/Wollongong group I was sent half of the nugget/cluster as hall/tett respectively so I ended up splitting everyone's orders half/half - it seemed the only fair way to go. mycle.

I started with the bread knife splitting them in half like so you had 2 semi circle halves but that was too much work and I had about 40kgs to split. It is much easier to split them into plates - they seem to naturally split this way. hth mycle.
