    Vic Newbie

Welcome. :chug: I live not far from Seymour and travel past each weekday. If you cant get hops/starsan in time for brew day just yell out as I have some spare if you get stuck. There used to be an equipment hire place in Seymour that sold some brew ingredients on the same rd as woolies but...

    Maturing in the Keg

Here fermenting and cold crashing is done in kegs. Then transferred using C02 to secondary kegs to avoid oxygen. The secondary kegs are aged anywhere from 2 - 8 weeks ish at room temp and replace the emptied ones in keezer then sit another 2 weeks chilling and carbing up at serving pressure...

    Keg/Fermentor washer

I just use a pond pump 240v. Some pvc piping, elbows, couple of hoses and disconnects etc. Works well for something that wont cost much more than $50.

    Kegging. What do I need?

Another vote for a seal kit. Just doing a couple of 2nd hand kegs I bought recently and one of the liquid post had it's own little eco system growing in it..... For a few bucks it's great piece of mind. :P

    Fermenting In A Corny Keg

Just reading through this old thread and wondering if some are still or have tried fermenting in the corny's? Seems to me from what I've read so far there's a lot of pros compared to cons, if you have spare kegs.

    Keg Systems & Conditioning

You will be happy going to kegging :) When started kegging had about the same consumption level at our house too. And 2 x 19L kegs just meant I had to brew often and force carb when kegged so there was something to drink. And basically I dont have the time to be doing that so often. As money...

    Worst equipment purchases

Yes pretty sure. Wort level drops (inside outter tube) and doen't stay at same level as wort in fermenter. Once it drops all the way to the seal (end of inner syphon tube) it starts sucking air. May try some lube on the seal or even a jiggler as suggested in some earlier posts.

    Worst equipment purchases

Have always had problems with them sucking air down through from the outta tube then tiny bubbles heading up through the inner syphon hose. ( not sure if it's similar to your problem? ) But if I clamp a clothes peg or similar on syphon tubing to slow the flow rate it helps to eliminate the...

    Pepsi corny kegs

Thanks for all the advice guys. Much appreciated :) Will have time today to make a start on stripping them down and cleaning. lol think I may crack the lids in the garage rather than inside the house or there may be 2 x truly evil things to contend with....

    Pepsi corny kegs

Thanks DU99 and Bribie G :) Will keep an eye out for those products. Yes have spare silicone o ring kits which I plan to use on them. 2 were still holding a lot of pressure (probably filled by the seller a few days before I recieved them) the other 2 not so much (maybe 5-10 pound). And will...

    Pepsi corny kegs

Hi all. Just had some old pepsi kegs delivered during the week. They still have pepsi tags and seals on the lids so guessing they haven't been opened for ages. Question is have many cleaned the old syrup up and if so was any other cleaning product required besides the basics? Usually I just...
