New To Kegs, Foam And Beer Flat In Lines

I find that the first glass is often foamy due to the taps been warm, even on a correctly balanced system. The warm taps cause the co2 to bubble out of the solution. Following glasses are fine.

2011 Hop Plantations, Show Us Your Hops!

Thanks. Am pretty happy with the results so far. Just bought a rhizome off ebay and stuck it in a pot. It's growing great. The photo just shows one lateral with flowers on it. There are heaps of these all the way up to the top. Probably 150+ cones nearly ready to pick. The photo is of a...

2011 Hop Plantations, Show Us Your Hops!

Hey Guys, Photo below is of my Chinook plant. Has reached 5-6m and stopped growing upwards. It now has some large flowers on it. Unsure if it is time to harvest? This is my first time growing hops.

    Gas Bottle Leak :(

Hey Guys, I racked an English ESB into a corny keg a few days ago. Burped the keg, set the gas to serving pressure and left it. Went to check on it today and it looks like the lid did not seal tightly and I have emptied my CO2 bottle. Gggrrrrrr! I am going to get the Bottle refilled tomorrow...

    Hops Reached Top Of Trellis?

Hi Superoo, I'm in Sydney. And this is a first year plant. I was pretty surprised too how quick it went up. I've heard chinook are one of fastest to grow. I planted some hallertau about the same time and it is only about 2 feet tall. The Tettnanger I planted was the first to sprout, reached...

    Hops Reached Top Of Trellis?

Do the side shoots need something to hang on to? I'm thinking I will just leave it and hopefully the plant put it's energy into side shoots.

    Hops Reached Top Of Trellis?

Hi Guys, I am trying to grow my own hops for the first time. Planted a Chinook rhizome about 1 month ago and it has already reached the top of 'trellis'. What to do now? I can't really extend the trellis higher, but could lower the bine to lay on the ground so it can keep growing up.

Braumeister For Sale At Sydney Lhbs?

Was looking at buying a Braumeister. I see a few of the site sponsors sell them online, but was wondering if any Sydney LHBS sells them? Would rather see one for real before outlaying the considerable cash for one of these. Thanks in advance

    Braumeister 20l Or 50l?

Thanks Guys. Yeah, I don't think my brew day will get any shorter in time, just means I can do other things whilst waiting for the Braumeister to "beep" at me. I am kegging, not bottling. So was thinking of using the 20L malt pipe to do fill 1 x 19L corny, and the 50L malt pipe to fill 2 x 19L...

    Braumeister 20l Or 50l?

Hi Guys, I have decided to buy a Braumeister. Have been brewing for about 9 months and am currently doing single batch All Grain an esky mash tun. Looking to move to the Braumeister to make my brew day easier as I have a young family. I know the Braumeister won't necessarily make the brew day...

Help With Wyeast 2565 (kolsch) Flocculation

Thanks for the advice guys. I think I will stick the bottles in the fridge and leave for a few weeks. I know they are already carbed as I have had a few. I also know it is the yeast still in suspension as I poured some into a glass, added a tiny amount of gelatin and left in the fridge. It...

Help With Wyeast 2565 (kolsch) Flocculation

Hi Guys, I brewed a Kolsch about 5 weeks ago using Wyeast 2565 Smack pack. I had good temperature controll and kept it around 15 to 16 degrees celsius. The airlock kept bubbling for a couple of weeks which was surprising as I only usually brew ales at higher temps and they seem to be well and...
