    Dry hopping with wet hops.

I used my Saaz within 5 minutes of harvesting so no hassles there. Pilsner is still a little green but carbing up nicely. Who's this? Nige? Galaxy were still smelling great this morning so fingers cross they hold out to Saturday otherwise I'll supplement with a dash of pellets.

    Dry hopping with wet hops.

I joined a local brew club who purchased 20kg off HPA. The smell is unbelievable! Are they ok in a ziplock bag till Saturday? I'm having my wet dry hops vacuum sealed today.

    Dry hopping with wet hops.

I have 500g of both Cascade and Galaxy wet hops that will be going into a brew this weekend. As the dry hopping is a few more days off should I be vacuum sealing them or would they be fine in a ziplock back in the fridge for a few extra days? When using wet hops to dry hop should I just throw...

    Malt Pipes

Not sure if this is the right thread to post this in but has anyone purchased one of these? The price seems very reasonable. I'm not sure the legs would clear my element but thats a minor issue...

    Kettle volume etching

I'm looking to do this with my old CUB Keggle. Has anyone made a template that I could use or know the distance mm for a litre? Obviously I'm after a template designed around a CUB Keggle.

Do you oil or seal a mash paddle?

I've got a few lengths of celery-top and huon pine that I'll be shaping into paddles in the near future, I have no intention of sealing it with anything. Like others have said... if you're concerned let it sit in some boiling wort or boiling water for a while.

    Wheres the krausen?

Just in case anyone else experiences this, the ginger beer is fermenting away nicely and is almost done. Initial taste test from the sample was great. I can't wait to get this into a keg for NYE. Cheers!

    Wheres the krausen?

Cheers guys, The last one I did a few years back was from a tin. It foamed more than any beer that I've ever brewed, was topping up the airlock every few hours. Will take a reading tonight. Fingers crossed it's doing its thing as its for the mother in law!

    Wheres the krausen?

I've put down a ginger beer using the popular recipe off the forums (the name escapes me at the moment) All ginger, honey, brown sugar, lemons, limes, cinnamon, yeast nutrient... I pitched a pack of US05 and there was no action for close to 3 days. Temp was held steady at 22 degrees. The last...

Ginger Beer Recipe - Scratch Brew No Kit

I've frozen 1.5kg of ginger and just went to peel it using the edge of a spoon. Far less waste than a peeler but do I really need to peel it if I am putting it in a blender and boiling for an hour? It took close to 15minutes to clean 4 tiny sections. I'd estimate it would take me close to 4...

    Custom printed tirage caps

I purchased a tub of this: http://www.liquitex.com/glossgel/ and printed out a sheet of little logos (in reverse) on a laser printer and cut them to size. Paint the medium on and stick them to my cap. Let it dry them wipe away paper with sponge and you're left with your image on your cap. Can be...

    Brew control panel enclosures

No specific size, just so long as a PID, timer and a couple of switches can fit into it. I guess 300 x 200x 100? Probably the smaller the better, I figure f I'm going to the effort to have it all wired up I may as well try and make it look good at the same time. Something like this would be...

    Brew control panel enclosures

I see a lot of great electric control panel enclosures over in the USA but I'm struggling to find a basic black metal box here to add a PID, timer and a couple of switches to. Does anyone have some links to Australian suppliers if they've been successful?

2017 Hop Plantations, Show Us Your Hop Garden!

Cheers, thats what I was leaning towards. Bit odd considering I gave the mound a healthy dose of composted cow manure and organic compost prior to planting. Testing the soil ph is always on my list of things to do that I never get to. Thanks again!
