There isn't a pressure drop over them, there is however a flow restriction. I can notice it in my system, but it isnt obvious and doesnt cause problems. Perhaps if you reduce your line length a touch to compensate.

You likey have an air leak. Check by squeezing your fermenter gently, and watch air lock.

That looks great. Breifly thought about the same thing, and I think you have prompted me to act on it! Just curious what you are using for bearings and support, as I imagine there is a reasonable amount of force exerted. Hope you keep us updatd on the progress.

The artificial sweetener is used as it doesnt ferment, meaning it is possible to sweeten the cider/ ginger beer, then bottle it without it exploding.

Your excessive temp drop issue is likely caused by the sensor placement. If you place it in the freezer in a more open location I think you will have better results. For example, while the fridge is on to chill a fermenter, with the probe inside the fermenter, the pump will run untill the wort...
