    Mongolian Burner Or 4 Ring?

Definitely a 10 jet mongolian, I do 25lt BIAB batches in an 40lt pot and used a standard 2 ring burner and reg for my first 10 brews but decided I needed a bit more grunt so I purchased a 10 jet mongolian from GAMECO, I made a 3/8th BSP extention tube with ball valve to link to the gas reg. Only...

    Boil

Jamil Zainasheff and John Palmer do a pod cast on all things brewing (LINK) brew strong , I am slowly listening to them but I have not got up to "the boil" yet, but on there "chill haze" talk I got the impression a more vigorous boil was better.

    Biab Og Issue

I'm with super, I can normally get about 75%, but I found plenty of stirring (a potato masher is good) and a 90 min mash does the trick

    Bulk Priming Issue

Last week I bulk primed a 27lt pilsner, boiled up 175g dextrose in 500ml water, cooled to room temp (I pulled the fermenter out until the temp was up to room temp also), racked to second vessel, added dextrose water and gently stirred. I was worried about the dex amount as beersmith gives you...

I stir and check temp every 20mins or so and do notice the temp at a normal level, but I've been using a plastic spoon. Going to make myself one of those super mashers like BribieG

    Measuring Biab Temp

Hi brewers, I brew BIAB with a 40lt pot, brewed a larger on the weekend using 4.5kg pils, once I got my 16lts of strike water up to 73 (I sparge and dunk), I noticed temp differences depending where I put my temp prob, 65 on the side of the pot and on top where the liquid has no grain...

Cider With Lactose? Need Help Deciding What To Do!

Hi, I made a similar cider 6 weeks ago (Black Rock Cider, 750g Dextros, 500g Lactose, 6lts Berrie apple juice). If your sister likes a sweet cider I'd go for 1000g lactose MINIMUM, my cider is still very dry, I cut it with a quater lemonade to sweeten it up. I found the 750 dextros is a bit to...

Feedback On First Biab Ag + No-chill

Hi all, just finished put my second Biab Ag + No-chill into the fermenter, learnt a lot from my first brew and changed for my second, didn't get enough data to get an accurate efficiency result for my first try but after no-chilling my second for 48hrs I came out with an OG 1.032 compared to a...
