The Brauduino (Matho’s Controller) Buy thread

Hi Lael, Have the controller built and fitted under the old laundry copper i'll be using as the outer / boiler. In order to progress the build i am at the point of needing to do the plumbing, but need an inner pot / malt pipe. Just wondering how you were going with sourcing pots and screens...

Just wondering what pumps everyone is planning to use? I have a March 809, but will probably save it for my regular brewing duties. I have found a few of possible units: 240v 1. Fullpint has the chugger @$249 4.1m head, 22.7l/m flow & 1/2" mpt thread...

Awesome work guys! Sorry I couldn't get there to lend a hand. Interested in hearing more about the pots & filter plates. I know my name isn't big kev, but geez "I'm Excited!" Looking forward to brewing smaller batches more often. This setup will let me do that easily.

Hi lael I remember a while back we talked about how you were hunting down a supply of pots and mesh screen. I sent you an email with details of a screen supplier. I know you have been busy with the kit but wondered if you had made any inroads on pots and screen? Unfortunately I can't make it...

Kettle water measurement - how to

I've posted this before a few times... measure the diameter in cm divide it by 2 to get the radius use excel to calculate how many L/cm using the formula (pi x rsquared)/1000 Use that value to make up 2 simple tables in excel: 1 to determine how many cm = a volume (ie required depth=desired...

    Hello from Sydney

Hi & welcome. Brewing is a heap of fun, like the others have said, you can not only make beers better than the mainstream, but also ones you can't buy here. I'll take 4kingale's comment 1 step further - you need to understand the process in order to control it, so read, learn, experiment. ask...

    Dishwasher element for RIMS?

I don't see why it wouldn't work. Only issue I can see is it may be a higher watt density, so you amy get some scorching. Give it a burl - you never know. Otherwise heat your strike & sparge water with it. Don't forget to rip out the solenoid valves from the dead machine while you're stripping...

Final volume of wort into cube

I agree it's all about your volumes & losses. Instead of using a marked up depth stick, it's easy enough to pull a spreadsheet together to use as a handy reference for each vessel. here is how I do it: 1. Measure the vessel diameter in cm to the nearest mm 2. use the following formula to work...

ON MEASURING GRAIN AND SUCH LOL

Sounds a bit like the "PoMo bucket measuring system" from way back when.... "A handful of gypsum, pinch of Epsom salts and a teaspoon of calcium chloride. Goes well with a mash of a bucket of base malt and about half a pint glass of crystal" funny thing was he meant calcium carbonate not...
