    Crown concealed element users

I have done 364 brews in my concealed element urn. I get varying amounts of buildup but it has never cut out. Rye is the worst culprit. I scrape the element cover with my brew paddle before the boil begins and that works.

Get into O2 guys, if you're serious about nicer beer

Coldspace, Are you willing to share your 150 lashes recipe? I have tried to make this beer but have been unable to replicate the hop taste. I also use O2. I have a 930ml bottle, regulator and airstone which I sourced from somebody on this forum. Will see if I can dig up the details. I give...

    Mini Keg Growler EOI

Now that we all happy with our new toys, a couple of questions. I have a couple of the 4 litre ones. Any suggestions as to how to carbonate these. For an 18L keg, a week at serving pressure does the job. I guess that you could fill them with carbonated beer and use the bulb to push the beer...

    Mini Keg Growler EOI

Using a 40L Electric Urn for BIAB - a guide

Can't you edit your posts anymore? Further to the above, I tried your new method, no mashout, but I still got the same amount of trub. I did give the mash a fair pump before pulling the bag slowly. May try giving that a miss the next time. Hit all my figures so yes, mashout doesn't appear to...

    Tasmanian recommendations

Thanks for all the tips. Obviously we won't be able to see everything so a return trip will probably be on the cards. I really wanted to take our car and do the ferry thing but fuel/accommodation/time vs a direct flight didn't quite stack up. Really looking forward to the trip, may be in the...

    Tasmanian recommendations

My wife and I are about to spend a couple of weeks driving around Tasmania. Does anyone have any recommendations for good food and good beer? We aren't planning on doing many k's per day but have already booked our accommodation, going anticlockwise from Hobart. Thanks, Bob
