    Excellent! Thanks guys. Maybe there is/could be a sticky thread somewhere describing what these TLA's are and what they mean? I really need to find some decent resources. Can you suggest some reading material? (online preferrably) I am still not sure exactly what "dry hopping" etc is.

    Lme

    So, after spending a fair bit of time reading the posts here I have come to understand quite a few of the TLA's (pardon the pun) thrown around in here. LME = Liquid Malt extract, correct? I went to my local HBS and bought a litre of Liquid Malt (Assuming we are all talking about the same...

    My Hydrometer

    Thanks Andrew. The interesting thing is that the manual I have says I can safely open the fermenter up until the 3rd or 4th day. /me tosses it out the window And yes, I do have a "Beer Hydrometer". I'll be visiting my local HBS on Saturday so I'll pick up a better Hydrometer from there. Not...

    New Guy Question

    I can vouch for that! I am also relatively new to this whole scene, and got sick of cleaning bottles. I spent a few hundred bucks on a 2 keg system and after 8 days am drinking delicious (albeit murky) beer! If it lasts another week apparently it'll clear up, but I doubt it will last that long...

    Beginner Looking For Help

    Well, Here I sit with an icy glass of very nice (but murky) Mexican Cerveza. Honestly, I doubt it will last long enough to clear up! lol. When you put it into the second fermenter, its best to put it in the fridge right? I have to say, without a doubt, this is the nicest homebrew beer I have...

    Ahh... excellent. So does this mean my beer won't clear up because I didn't do this? {edit: typo}

    Howdy all, Lots of great threads on here, but I have a few questions if you dont mind. I used to put my home brew into bottles but I am hopeless at sterilising the bottles. I made probably 4 batches of homebrew in the past 5 years and only 1 turned out worth drinking. The rest were used to eat...
