    Bummer

johnno, that looks much better for the airlock :) i can finally add something to the topic, i was trying to mill some grain for a brew and got carried away and bumped the table. one tipped hopper, lots of spilt grain all over the floor and one upset beer maker. <_< however the birds seem to...

    Converting Old Timers From Megaswill

sounds very familar. it took a huge effort to convert my father to drink my beer, but once he actually drank some boy did he change his mind. i think it helps to explain the process you have undertaken to get your beer. its always funny watching people take their first sip, realise they...

    Electric Breweryland

Plastic Man, i put 2 in mainly to bring it to the boil faster and then switch one off. i also figured if i'm trying to boil 30L+ (only doing 15~20L) at the moment, then the two would keep the large volume at a good boil. i think we need the myth busters to have a go at busting the scorching...

    Electric Breweryland

Hi Barge, more my own observations then any hard facts. i've just finished brewing a pale ale with 100% ale malt. its a 40L plastic bucket with twin belle rings of doom  . only did a 60min boil and no sign of scorching or burnt tastes. this is about my 4th AG beer using the bucket...

    Beer That Tastes Good?

spicks, use both the kit and the muntons in the brew. the crystal will add some sweetness and depending on the type add some toffee flavours. and its a never ending learning curve :)

    Continuous Hop Additions

i would guess that with only centennial it would be very strong. however having said that, i'm sure i've seen clone recipes packed with centennial, or as the yanks call them Imperial IPA's :) i'm sure a beer brewed by stone's or 3 floyds is a centennial only brew or has it as the main hop. but...

    Heating Elements

i'm with plastic man, i got two of those heavy duty safety switches. they cost a lot but sure bets the other option. as for stainless, not to sure. might be safer to get a sparky to wire up a bigger (wattage) element. check out batz's gallery pictures.
