    Cleaning Keg Dip Tubes?

Drink til empty , then refill?? I'm confused or pissed... probably both.

    Whirlpool Process

I do the same, start slow, build up speed until your arm hurts and you desperately need a top up ... priorities and all. I've got a 70L wide pot with an electric element, thermowell and angled pickup... absolutely no problem getting a good cone.

    Whirlpool Process

I usually add flame out hops, whirlpool for few minutes, cover on and sit for 5-10mins until the convection stops or slows a lot. Hose into cube, open tap and make sure it has good suction.... that's it!

    Losing The Bag.

I just do a single infusion (usually 67C) ... lift and drain whilst it gets up to boil. My efficiency for pale ales is around 75% , my crush is not super fine but I do tend to mash for longer and always correct water profile (calcium carbonate / gypsum). Saves a lot of time and effort!

    First Ever Lager!

Keep it in primary for 2 weeks minimum, then check gravity. You need yeast and lots of it ... use the calculator but I'd say at least 3L.

    Stc 1000 Questions

If you're bothering to wire it up you might as well cater for both. Run 2 female plugs from the heat and cool lines... plug you fridge in and when you have a heater or lamp just plug it in.

Biab Volumes For A 15 Lt Pot

Muslin doesn't drain very well... you really need nylon/polyester voile... Spotlight have it but they often aren't aware. It's like sheer curtain material with small but visible holes. Keep looking! Probably worth reading the NickD 19L pot thread in regards to grain/volume/etc. Scale it down...

Melbourne Grain Bulk Buy - Late Nov/early December

The Keg King price for JW Ale was practically the same as the bulk buy price (cash). Plus you can buy smaller quantities of spec malt. Plus plus .. they are open to 6pm on Saturdays which is handy! If you're within reasonable distance might as well just buy when you need it so it's fresh.

    Beer Heist

Spending the weekend in Shanghai ... the supermarket near my hotel is catering for expats and the like and has a good range of imported beers. Here's what I've picked up for tonight, all for the measly sum of $15. Tried the Rochefort 6 last night ...very smooth indeed ... looking forward to...

    Attempt At My First Biab

I would suggest starting with simple single infusion brews so you can get the hang of all grain ... learn the ropes then starting toying with stepped mashes, etc. In saying that, even after years of brewing I'm still doing basic BIAB single infusion .. no sparge... with good efficiency and low...
