AHB Articles: 2011 Close-enough-to-get-to-Adelaide spring case swap

Just saw this now. Recipe is here if you haven't seen it yet MaltyHops. http://www.aussiehomebrewer.com/forum/inde...showtopic=56456 As for oats? Perhaps replace some of the MO with some golden naked oats, up to 10%. If you want more oats in there then perhaps replace some of the rye as...

    Newbie With First Brew

Do not use the coppers hydrometer, I bought the new coppers kit a while ago and first thing I did after finding a plastic hydrometer was check it against my two glass hydrometers and refracometer. I found it to be around 0.003 lower. What were the ingrediants and volume of the batch of beer...

    RecipeDB - Rye Robust Porter

I think it should be good to go after 4 weeks. Interestingly, the 1 week dry hopped version was only two weeks in the bottle when judged better than the non dry hopped version that had been in the keg for 3 weeks. See Smurto's tasting comments on the 2 week dry hopped version here -...

    Stammtisch Challenge - Spring 2011

Hi all, So I thought a return to the old style Stammtisch would be a good idea. One recipe - the only variables are the way you conduct the mash and ferment. As I rarely brew English beers thought I would make it an English IPA. Recipe is as follows English IPA OG - 1.065 86% British Ale...

    RecipeDB - Rye Robust Porter

Cheers Tony, Yes, this was same one but not dry hopped. The winner of the Stammtisch was dry hopped for 7 days. The one in the case swap was dry hopped for 14 days. All from the same batch. Forgot to add, rice hulls were added to the mash, 500g iirc. Kieren

Recommend Hbs Adelaide And Reading Material For Newbie

Welcome Jonesy. A couple of homebrew stores that cater for the more serious brewers is Beerbelly (prospect) and Brew Adelaide (up north somewhere). I avoid brewcraft and the like. How to Brew is almost considered the homebrewers bible and available online too at howtobrew.com. There are...
