    Oldest Beer You've Had?

I bought about 90 tallie bottles off a bloke that gave up brewing long ago, He told me as I was putting them in the car "there might be a few unopened in there mate. If there is, they would have to be at least 10 years old". Sure enough, I found a few unopened homebrews. I put one in the fridge...

    Brewdog - Royal Virility Performance

Funny, they only changed that wording on the web page in the past few hours. When I posted it (as you can see in the OP quote) it said Viagra, chocolate and horny goat weed. Obviously some people got on to them about it. Still funny though.

    Licensing Help In Vic

One thing that hasn't really been touched on is the zoning issues with your local councils. I'm guessing you brew at home, yeah? It's just a guess but where you live is probably zoned residential. As operating a brewery would fall under manufacturing, then I doubt the council will permit it...

    Diacetyl Rest?

Is it actually diacetyl? I love chardonnay, and 'butter' is commonly on the palette. When I started brewing and learnt about diacetyl, I remember thinking "hmm, I wonder if this is what is in chardonnay". So, is it something the winemakers look to put in a chardonnay on purpose with the yeast...

    A Few Questions

Cool. I was genuinely curious. I'm always interested why people do certain things with certain beers, especially when it comes to yeast. There so many different opinions out there as what to do with beer. Leave it on the yeast, rack it off, do x before dry hopping etc etc. I like to hear what...

    A Few Questions

This is not considered aerating the wort. Wort is unfermented sweet barley juice. If your beer is shaking around like this, you risk oxidising it, which can result in some pretty delicious cardboard/ cheap sherry like flavours in your beer. I remember making an bock one time, transfering the...

    Dessert Wine

G'day Tim, Muscats are a fortified wine. If you are looking to make a dessert wines, like the ports, muscats, tokays etc, then maybe don't worry about reducing down the must etc to add sweetness. Fortifying wine basically means adding a spirit (usually brandy) to the fermenter to up the alcohol...

    First Esb Kit Bottled

I don't mind Prickley Moses beers. We used to stock them in a little restaurant I worked in in Melbourne. Was it their red ale you liked so much? That was always my Friday knock off drink :D I used to enjoy their stout too. From where was the IPA your wife liked so much? As for suggestions...

    Commercial Examples A Particular Hop

I am thinking Adnams Broadside possibly, but am not too sure. The marketing from the brewery talks about it being brewed with first gold hops. But I don't know if adnams use something else for bittering (though it's about 8% AA). Can anyone confirm/deny this? So, tentatively - Abnams Broadside...
