    Melbourne's 2012 Good Beer Week

Great afternoon at GABS on Saturday afternoon. Met a whole bunch of good beer people (pun not intended). Left royal exhibition centre and headed down to Cookie for a beer before we went to Mrs Parmas for dinner. The pint we got at Cookie was the Green Flash 'Le Freak' 9.2% Belgian Tripple...

    Whats In The Glass (commercial)

No, not sarcastic at all. Torpedo for $45 a case is a steal. Even if it was a parallel import of inferior quality, IMO it's a good price. Also, at such a discount, it leads me to believe that they are getting rid of them because they aren't selling. If you enjoyed it, go back and get em! :chug:

    What Causes "vegemitey Roughness"

I don't recall suggesting they would. The OP asked why an off flavour was getting into a commercially produced beer. I merely pointed out that the same rules apply, whether or not they are commercially brewed.

    What Causes "vegemitey Roughness"

This ^^^^^ Autolysis is usually associated with vegemite flavours. That article you linked didn't really get into it much. If you are interested, google some more articles. Any problem you can get in home brew, you can get in commercial beers. Actually, i've drank more commercial beers with...

    Why All Grain?

Why do you assume it will be different? It might be filtered, but.. Compare a K&K beer to a nice, all grain, well made beer from a micro/not so micro brewery. Then realise you can make beer this good yourself. Maybe even better!. Then realise it's cheaper (so to speak) to make it yourself. Then...

    Zywiec Porter

So, picked up a 6er of this tonight, $20! Nice.. Chilled one down and just finished and I must say, pretty damn impressive. A nice, rich, balanced porter. Lovely roasty flavours with a good sweetness that definitely hid the alcohol percentage. I didn't detect any heat at all! There was a slight...

Does Beer Have Sugar In It

Well Tony, I didn't want a coke, but gosh darn, I'd be lying if I said my mouth wasn't watering at the thought now! :icon_drool2: Tip this pale ale out I think.

Does Beer Have Sugar In It

Well, i think coke has about 10.6g sugar per 100ml (or around 1.042 if you prefer :icon_cheers:)

    Zywiec Porter

Some good reports here on this beer. Cheers fellas. I'm buying less and less from Dans these days, as the poor handling shows. However, living in the Dong, I'm hardly spoilt for choice. I might seek this beer out and give it a crack. Hows the flavours/mouth feel on this? Is a thicker/viscous...

Does Beer Have Sugar In It

Whose beer?? Is your mate being general and saying all beer? Or does he mean the mass produced beers? If he means macro lagers, then yes, they add sugar. Maybe even 30% adjunct, who knows. That ferments out first though. Or does he mean, that there is 30% residual sugars left in your beer? If...

    Ecu Short Brewing Course

Good to see you were able to get along this year Drew. It's a good week, you'll enjoy it. Try and hit John (Nail Brewing) up and see if you can come in early and help out with a brew. He's a good bloke. Stormahead - Are you working in a brewery at the moment, or looking to enter the industry?
