Hey Herbs, Wheat beers are fermented on the same rules as ales 18-22. If you ferment at the higher end (22C) you will get more of the banana and clove flavours in your brew. If you ferment at the lower end (18-20C) the banana and clove flavours won't be as noticable. What yeast are you using?

I had exactly the same experience. The Best Bitter was way over carbonated and took a while to settle in the glass................except I had to pay for mine :angry: Edit: Still thought it was a good tasting brew though

Timmo, Ideally you want to keep it at 18-20C to avoid any fruity/cidery flavours that could evolve because of higher fermentation temps. You'll get away with 18-22C without too much drama. DC82, Instructions on the cans are directed towards people who want to brew a beer with minimal effort...

I've been out there a few times and picked up some good brews to try. I don't recall seeing any Saison's or Koelsch though. Plenty of Belgian's and English Ales! Had a few of the Braidwood beers too

Why would the beers be discounted? It's just a group of people meeting up at a pub for a beer and a chat so I can't see any discounts being offered.

Ales have been my favourite so far. I've got Lager yeasts, but haven't brewed a proper Lager yet.
