Jay, You need to have a look at "Masterbrew" to avoid the trap of letting the tin do all the work and benefit by getting a fresher result. There are really good kits around now compared to years ago but bear in mind that they are just that, KITS and ideally, should be treated accordingly...

Jino, You won't find malted buckwheat or sorghum in OZ. Rob Hinterding on OZCB may have had some success but I haven't. I have unhusked Buckwheat and Sorghum in stock that will require an enzyme mash. I have the enzymes in stock if you want to have a go. Ring or PM me if you wish. Regards Dave

Wow! Thanks folks. I might have some of Chillers beer today! This is the one he made with the powells pils malt and it is SENSATIONAL! 4 step mash, bittered to 22 IBU's with Nelson Sauvin hop flowers. Has anybody else used these? The hop has an amazingly different flavour, I don't know how...

Alkaline salts is the active stuff in beerline cleaner mate. No probs. Ensure you are sanitising with an acid rinse though otherwise the PH won't be neutral and it will be clean but dirty if you know what I mean. Dave

Yep, It's unfortunate that new brewers are going to see these people and won't ever know that other brewing methods exist. That's why there's unused fermenters in sheds all over OZ because the K & K method is too much work for a generally second rate result. That's what they think home brew...
