If you were to have direct sunlight hitting it, would suggest going with precomputed vinyl. It's cast with the colour pigment in it and fading won't be an issue for 7-10 years. Digital prints are good for up to 5 yrs before reds and blues start to blend

Prep is the key. You'll only get out what you put in. The cleaner and smoother/flatter the surface, the better the finish will be. Paint isn't a cover all and hide all finish. Those who think it is end up with their surface looking like a toffee apple. Same goes for anyone lacquering timber...

Try to finish off with sugar soap. Nothing wrong with a little vanilla smell.
