    KegLand Questions and Answers

Hey, thanks for the reply. Understood break in the fermenter is one of those controversial topics! I probably didn't describe my thoughts all that well. My thinking was if you put a seal on this bottom edge it would mean that once you whirlpool anything that drops through the top would end up...

    KegLand Questions and Answers

Hi @KegLand-com-au I noticed the new false bottom you released looks like the design could double as a bit of a trub catcher on the bottom after a whirlpool. I've been trying to keep more of the break etc out of my fermenter and this looks like it could work quite well. Did you guys notice any...

Suck it up!! Haha I feel your pain, Facebook is a massive pain in the hole. I'll try and post here if I see it in time although I suspect they will probably sell out quickly.

    NEIPA Recipe Critique?

Looks good. I think the malt bill is similar to the one Verdant published. It will help to keep the colour really pale - similar to the MrBanks beers which I prefer. I like to use malted oats & malted wheat to help with run-off and maybe ~ 5% quick oats. Not sure what system you are brewing with...

    KegLand Questions and Answers

@KegLand-com-au I agree with the conical bottom - perhaps some option of installing a hop stopper type arrangement? Or maybe two outlets with a drainage port in the middle and the pump higher to always mean you are drawing off clear wort.... Or all of the above with a hop stopper that fits into...

Cool, thanks for that. In all honesty it was because I saw MrBanks was using it in their hazy IPAs and I love the colour they produce! Haven't used it before though.

    KegLand Questions and Answers

@KegLand-com-au Assuming you want to use the controller for distilling with a pot still, would you be able to turn one of the elements off meaning the power controller still has to deliver a high enough percentage of power to maintain the LCD or am I missing something? I have a 65L brewzilla and...

    NEIPA do's and don'ts

Some good info here too: Verdant IPA Yeast - Home Brewing Competition I agree, I think 8g/L is not really the correct number. I believe the breweries that are doing that these style of beers now have that number closer to 25g/L for IPAs. Put a beer dry hopped at 8g/l beside one at 25g/l and see...

I second this - yeast has always been a pain for this reason. Also maybe an option for the yeast that's just past its best although I can imagine the staff enjoy privileges on these!

    KegLand Questions and Answers

I'm the same, cap it up and achieve roughly 50% carbonation. Use the stone to carb up the rest. On the subject I wonder if kegland could design and build a cheap version of the zahm & nagel for checking carbonation? While its not necessary at the homebrew level a lot of the stuff we do could...

+1 for the carb stone. Preferably with a bsp thread. I've previously put a ball valve and pneumatic air fitting on mine. 6" seems possibly too large for my 14g SS brewtech unitank so perhaps 4" would be perfect.
