    KegLand Questions and Answers

So whats going on with the Hop Bong @KegLand-com-au ? Out of stock. A formidable poster on the Coopers forum starts a thread he got one, two days later i want to buy one out of stock again. I feel like a poor kid missing out at Christmas. Cmon, get enough stock in to involve everyone.

    Wheat beer yeast options

Can also vouch for the Lalbrew Munich Wheat yeast, i've brewed a couple of cracking all grain wheats with this, also vouch the WB-06 gives a sour tart flavour.

    Coopers Lager overcooked the baby.

They're all overly bitter. Its the iso hop they use i think. When i started all grain and bittering beers to my taste it becomes very apparent.

    Anyone used Nano BiaBasket?

Yep thats about it. So if i want to go for say a RIS at 22 - 23 litres. I'll have to use a bag instead of the basket. If you're really serious go up to a 70 litre with basket.

    Anyone used Nano BiaBasket?

I mash with around 3.5/4 litres per kg of grain if thats what you mean?

    Anyone used Nano BiaBasket?

The pot is not the problem, comfortably boil well over 30 litres. My issue is fitting enough grain in the basket for say a 23 litre batch of 6% + beers. The basket seems just a tad small and goes close to overflowing with grain when mashing.

    Anyone used Nano BiaBasket?

I have 50 litre pot with basket. Wish i'd gone 70 litre. Basket seems a bit under done for the pot. Those really big beers i need to use a bag.

Is it possible to grab the yeast from coopers cans???

Just me but i dont get this reculturing from Coopers beers. Too much effort for no reward. Their dried yeast is pretty damn good and even better dry yeasts out there. I've done it once or twice and cant tell the difference in the same recipes. Back in the day Coopers used Nottingham.

What is the recommended lagering process for a true pilsner?

You most definitely would have to add your priming sugar to your bottles.
