Vic45's English Bitter. Lovely silky body, carbonated just right. Nice malt flavour and aroma, bitterness perfect for my taste.

    How to improve head retention

According to the Brewsmith article that someone has linked to above, a rest in the 50-60C range is not desirable if you are chasing head retention.

Brewtech SS fermenting vessels discussion thread

Pete, Can confirm they are 3/8 NPT. Can't give you a link where to buy them though. In the past I have used BSP and run a NPT tap through them, works ok but only if you have the tap.

    AC/DC drummer in strife

Poor old Phil, he gets charged with a very serious offence, all over the media, then they drop the charge. Talk about being "Kicked in the teeth".

    Pid Controller (rex-c100) Vs Stc-1000

That means that it has an accuracy of + or - .2% of full scale. IE - if full scale measurement is 200C, the accuracy of the measurement will be + or - .2% of the 200. Thats assuming that the temp probe you are using is accurate, they do vary a bit. By the way, you can still get overshoot with a...

Installing a sensor-wire socket inside the freezer?

Installing a plug and socket on an STC1000 temperature probe will make bugger all difference to the temperature reading. The STC1000 probe is a 10K NTC which means it reads 10000 ohms at 25 degrees celcius and the resistance drops as the temperature increases. If you introduce 1 or 2 ohms at the...

    Scottish Independence

I was in Inverness in 1989 when I was 26 yo. Went to the local hairdresser to have a trim. Very nice scottish lass, I guessed around her early 20's, started cutting my hair. We were getting along very well and she said, "You know why I like Australians?" I'm thinking, "I might be in here", She...

    Fathers Day 2014

I hear you brother, what a disappointment. Son bought me a 6 pack of assorted brews from Red Duck, here in Ballarat. Daughter got me some Ferrer Rocher chocolates and a gift voucher. Went out for breakfast. Took the dog for a walk in the bush while drinking a long neck of my AIPA. Was a good...

NPT vs BSP thread type in a new set-up

You've linked to 3/8 UNC, Pete was after 3/8 BSP, no match. Pete, I got 3/8 BSP lock nuts/backing nuts, but in brass, from Enzed. They said they could get SS but I settled for the brass as it wasn't in contact with wort and they had them in stock.
