If you have a top perf screen in the malt pipe, a silicon hose returning the wort on top of that will be fine.

That's fine. I was just making sure you weren't creating a vacuum by having the fermenter air tight. Makes it hard to drain the fermenter if it's trying to suck air and it can't.

Have you got the lid off the fermenter or open to atmosphere?

Had the same problem with the RPV on my new KL CO2 bottle. Thought l must have been unlucky. Couldn’t get any gas out but l knew it wasn’t empty. Took it to my normal refiller who took the RPV out, pulled it apart, think he may have replaced an O ring. Has been fine ever since. Didn’t charge me...

Had it left over from a job I had done in a previous working life. Any decent pnuematic suppliers would stock them. Still use the same set up today, works well. Edit - Looks like Norgren are in Roweville, Vic.

In the UK at the moment and dropped into Camden Town Brewery. They brew mainly lagers which is unusual for a small brewery over here. Their unfiltered beers are very nice.
