    My European Beer Odysey

I've bought some from a person on ebay with good results. It might seem expensive to buy that way, however it is cheaper/easier than going through the hassle of travelling to Belgium, preordering etc. Of course it's not as much fun as going to Belgium, but as a once off I was able to justify...

Beer & Brewers Autumn Edition Launch At Silo

It was a good night. I got to meet some AHBers and some industry people too. Beers on offer included Potters Kolsh, Docs/Potters Gose (great summer beer), Fullers London Pride, Adnams Explorer, Red Oak Bitter, Prickly Moses Red Ale and a couple of Brew Dog beers. Food was fantastic too...

    My European Beer Odysey

Nice one. The Ayinger Brauhaus was closed when I was in town (NYE 2008), however I managed to get their Celebrator dopplebock and other beers at a near by pub/restaurant. I quite enjoyed the Augustiner Edelstoff as well. If memory serves me correctly, it is quite a hoppy beer.

    What Are You Brewing III

It is actually a present for my brother in Coffs. I'll tell him to save a few bottles so hopefully it will be at a pizza night in a couple of months. :icon_cheers:

For the hop monster I recently brewed. (It looked a bit like jungle juice with all that hop material in it)

What Is The Future Of Beer

Referencing the ratings of beers in the AHB recipe database would support the claims that easy drinking ales are a hit. The top 5 are less than 5% ABV and the #1, #3 and #4 beers are English Best/Special Bitters. 1. Dr Smurto Golden Ale clone - English Best/Special Bitter 2. Tony's Little...

    What Are You Brewing III

If no one else was going to talk me into it, then I talked myself into it . Besides, my hops weren't getting any younger so best to put them to good use. I hopbursted with a fairly even mix of Chinook, Cascade, Simcoe and Amarillo. Dr Fegg's Jungle Juice 14-C Imperial IPA Size: 20.0...

    1st All Grain Brew

Congrats on your first brew. Mash thicknesses to vary the end product, but I would imagine that the differences in this case would be negligible. If you didn't squeeze the rest of the air out of the cube after you took that picture, then I'd look to pitch the yeast once the wort has dropped...

    Orchard Ale

I was at the launch today (at the Malt Shovel Brewery). They talked about how they used a saison yeast in primary and then mixed apple juice (from 4 or 5 different apples) into secondary and also added a white wine yeast. They also mentioned doing a sour mash (to drop the ph and get some...

    Aussie Ale

The easy answer to that is use less hops! As a rough idea how it works, instead of doing a 40 min boil with 20g of hops, perhaps you only need to use 16g of hops in a 60 min boil. Therefore you are saving money on hops whilst still hitting the same level of bitterness. (this was just a rough...

    Making Labels

Hey aking, Unfortunately the pix are a little small to make out much detail. When you try again, it might be best to post to the following thread... http://www.aussiehomebrewer.com/forum//ind...1&hl=labels Cheers, Rukh.

    Weyermann Belgian Malts

Sounds good. I'm going to be doing a TTLL clone with 3% carabohemian (and the rest will be Simpons Maris Otter). Will probably brew it in the next fortnight.
