    Light dry malt rock hard - use?

    Hi Someone gave a bag of light dry malt - old hard as a rock. Put in the stove to boil and soften… seems ok .. doesn’t taste off, just tastes a bit like sugar but not over sweet.. which I think it would normally be like, I can’t see malt going off sealed in a bag. Also a few tins of homebrew...

    15L Fermenter to make 23 L brew?

    I calculated that wort would be 420 ml and the rest of the 750ml water, why cant I do the usual brew in the 15 and then make with water at the end in the bottle, ? I am not turn a 23 litre in 15 litre, if that is what you mean?

    Hi I was given a 15 litre FV (for someone else to use) Kits make 23 litres, would it possible to fill up bottles about 420 ml and then top up with water to make the volume (im sure how some breweries increase capacity?) Thanks

    yep I think this is going to taste like those (forgot name) An English Ale that is 8.8% (might be Tennants Extra) - its all alcohol flavour, not great. I am going to suggest he brews another can with just malt (or nothing) to just get it down in alcohol and then mix the 2.

    thanks LOL, it might only be 1 beer LOL this is going to be good --- new brewer getting a bit cocky..LOL I get about 7.47% on brewers friend - this is a kit - but just added and also forgot he is also only making to 20 L (he is going all in) and that makes a big difference - wow - 6.5 to 7.47%...

    Hi A mate who does not do SG or FG - (tbh I stopped when it all was the same each time and I broke the reader) - anyhow He added Kit plus 'about' 2 kg dextrose, 500 gram honey plus coopers beer enhancer 2 - LOL - I told him he is making rocket fuel - lol anyhow - would there a rough guide...

    Thanks - maybe last couple of beers may have had more sediment than usual - maybe sucking through that. (on one of kegs I did cut it 1/2 inch shorter - to help with that) I never had issues beer doing the same way... I just thought the yeats might be different, although used US 05 beer... Yes...

    Hi Yeast like US 05 and T-58 seems to clear in bottle but not in keg? Any ideas?? I know you can add gelatin, but never really had to do that. Standard kits , nothing special. Thanks

    Could add liquid with carbonation cap and bottle with pressure so don’t have to open. Cheers

    Did you combine in keg or just mix in glass? I have a Belgian smoked ale which I’m not sure about, and this one - might make a good combo.. if I do 50/50 in a glass and see.

    Yeast is holding at 20 without heater, in fact had to turn temp control to cool on — 15 degrees in room.

    Question to the yeast experts - If had a completely insulated area - lets it was 12/15 degrees. .... Will yeast ferment at is own natural temperature - ie go up to 18/19? I find the yeast working creates a few more degrees than the outside temp. Obviously if no temp. control and it was 30...
