    Where Are You From ?

Tranmere, Adelaide. Have just made the big move south from North Queensland, Port Douglas. Only just settling in now and have finally made it in to visit all of the wonderful HBS's available here. Just sourced and converted a keg, and looking for an urn for my HLT. Need a chiller, might grab one...

Attn: 60l Ferm. Owners, Look @ This Price!

There used to be a bee farmer up north here. He used to have pollen sent up from WA somewhere to feed his bees. The pollen came in 60L containers, exactly like the fermenters. When he emptied them, he used to send them to the local second hand shop who used to sell them for $15 each...

    Phuket - Thailand.

Beautiful place, I stayed at Patong beach. Around that area, check out the couple of aussie bars, I recall the Kangaroo bar going off at night. Heineken is $1.20 for 1 litre if I remember correct! You can buy it from the 711 store. I would recommend you stay at Patong, there is a lot of good...

    Help! Broken Beer Fridge

The worst thing happened the other day, went to the keg fridge, and it had no power. I switched off the fridge and tested the socket, all ok. Then I had a look at the junction plate, and found that the main red wire had corroded and fallen off. I then tried to take off the plate, and all the...

    How Critical Is Temperature Stability?

Deebee, i have been using the chiller in the peak of summer. the lowest I can get the chiller to go is 18C after fresh ice has been added. it levels off at 20C for most of the day but when the temp creeps over 20C (i have an alarm on my thermometer) I change the ice. Pretty crude method I know...

    How Critical Is Temperature Stability?

I have made a son of fermentation chiller. It works out quite cheap if you have most of the materials. For the foam, go to a foam supplier + bring your measurements with you. Ask for insulation foam (grey in colour) and then ask for it to be cut to size. They use a hot wire to cut it perfectly...

    Introduce Yourself.

GMK, I will be moving into Firle for the time being. Not quite sure where I will settle. Will be looking on the market. I will be working at this stage in the city, so I will end up residing close by anyway. Very interested in a brew club however. count me in.

according to 'Homebrewing for Dummies', Mediciny\plastic flavours are due to distinct phenols due to wild yeast, or due to levels of chlorine in the water or residue from sanitising.

Q Brew And Grain In Queensland

Batz, Where are you moving to? There is one place in Townsville http://www.hbrews.com.au and Cairns has Brewcan who I mainly deal with. His prices are quite high - 50kg Pale malt (he is unsure of brand) $150. 25kg Wheat - $80. Nice fella though. I brought him in a external fridge controller the...

    Freezer Conversion

Guys, I have bought a thermostat from the Herp Shop. Have tried to change it to control a fridge, but it is designed for a heat box for reptiles. I opened the box to hopefully change the thermostat from normally open to normally closed but the thermostat does not have the dual setting. Tried...

    Burners For Ag Setup

I bought a "turbo" burner from my local hardware, $25 and it will get a 23lt wort to boil in about 1/2 hour after the sparge. I think the burner itself was a little cheap, I have seen the same in a surplus supply in Cairns for $80. it did have quite a lot of dust! I will post a pic if you want.
