This is really dependent on your system. I BIAB and regularly go up to 36% rye when I'm using it. No rice hulls. Doesn't drain as nicely but no big problem either. Have also done 100% wheats with no big issues.

I only buy base malt in bulk these days. Just get spec malts as I need them for each brew and no extra. Found I was just ending up with bits and pieces of old unused spec grain.

How can it be a complete microbrewery without any actual brewing equipment. Not even a can opener included. Needs really to be viewed in terms of the kegerator and kegging gear. The other 2 fridges are worth maybe $50 each. Whether it's good value would depend on the age of the kegerator...

My heat sleeve covers the urn right down to the bottom but mine does not have the factory mod or the forum bypass mod. I haven't had any wire scorching problems as yet after 70 odd batches. My understanding is that the factory is not a bypass but increases the temperature at which the cut out...

Bugger. I pulled a few off but only one had latched on. Must have got it off reasonably quickly as no ill effects other than a bit of a raised irritated spot. The little arseholes were climbing all over the outside of the mesh on my tent. Threw it out when I got home cause the thing leaked too...
