    Outdoor Gas Burner Times

    Hi Shawn, I heated 17 litres of sparge water, from about 4 degrees, straight out of my rainwater tank, to boiling, (I only meant to go to around 80c, but wasn't watching the temp too closely) :o in about 6-7 minutes. :) I am using one of the space shuttle burners and HP reg Cheers, Crispy

    Spot on Linz, Thats how the guys at Andale explained it to me when they re-kitted my font. The inlet tube chanels the glycol to the extremity of the font, where it exits the tube, fills the font and then flows back through the outlet. I think its probably best to use some form of anti-freeze...

    - GOLIIATH/Dave The unhusked wheat you are talking about, is this malted or unmalted? If unmalted, is there a difference in the way in needs to be mashed...eg a longer mash or with a higher proportion of other base malt Cheers, Crispy

    In another thread I mentioned wanting to brew a Belgian Wit,.....JM suggested to use "spelt", from a grain store. My question is this... Is there any difference in grain, produced for the breakfast cereal set, to the grain produced for brewing. From a grain store would this wheat be "malted"...

    Wardy, Thanks to info provided by Chiller and Jayse, I picked up the burner ($27) and pot from "Globe Importers" on Magill Rd. The pot is Aluminium, 60 Litre, cost was $90 The reg. came from Maxbilt on Buelah Rd, Norwood. When at Maxbilt I noticed they also had the pots also, 60, 90 & 120...

    and here is the manifold, I used grade 18 pressure pipe, which should handle the temp and is food safe (grade 12 presure pipe is not food safe, due to the higher lead content). Slots are cut halfway through at about 10mm spacing on the underside. (yes GMK it is a square, not a bloody octagon)...
