    Real Low Alcohol Beer

I think I've got what I need. I'll try the last couple of suggestions re less malt and beefing up after fermentation. I'll eventually get back and let you know how I went. Many thanks for all of the informed help.

    Real Low Alcohol Beer

A thought came to me re lowering volatile levels (AKA in this case "alcohol") in a beer. In industrial applications the "flash evaporator" is used as the first stage in natural gas processing to drop out heavy ends (C8 and higher) and leave the lighter ends in a gas stream. Stripping higher...

    Real Low Alcohol Beer

As the OP I must say I'm impressed. :D I didn't expect to start the debate we've got. So, if I summarize somewhat. It would be a bugger of a process and unless done in umpty thousand liter vats stirred by Bavarians with Kaiser Wilhelm mustache and lederhosen probably well outside my limited...

    Real Low Alcohol Beer

I've brewed my own for some 20 years. But with a medication I'm NOW on any alcohol gives me a raging headache. Bummer Eh?? :( BUT after some experimentation I found Coopers "Birell"; supposedly 0.5% alcohol. Ok... OK .... so it sounds dreadful. Actually it doesn't taste too bad...

My Hops Have Grown (nine Inches Today )

Yeah my Hallertau have gone beserk and are growing upwards of 6' per day. It's only...

    Pumping Beer

Fabulous!! Great ideas gang. I like the block and tackle idea, or at least on principal, a lifting rig of some sort. Sounds a bit weird, but hey, I've got MIG and gas axe, and 18" metal drop saw etc etc plus a good workshop and a 1/2 ton 5 pulley set up (without rope) sitting...

    Pumping Beer

I'm a real basic Brewer. I use 3-4 30L brew barrels and basic can brews with a bit of a tweak. Haven't poisoned myself yet. :icon_cheers: But I run a brew 3 days and then rack it into another barrel so as to let it brew out with no sediment in the bottles. Sometimes I'll do a secod racking if...
