    panic over guys, i moved my secondary upto the kitchen to rack it off into a second secondary, and noticed that in the beter light the spots were not blue at all they were just small clumps of yeast! dont i feel an ass! thanks for the feedback tho. must get some better lighting in my cellar!!!!

    i simply run wort from hopstrained tap, through tubing to fermenter, alowing it to freefall into fermenter. This gives a lovely mousey head and a bubbly airlock and active ferment within the hour. I do pitch a 2l starter everytime as well. Simple! (just like me!)

    i will give that a try, thanks. i thought every brew, be it ale or lager benefits from a stay in a secondary. obviously an efficent and sanitary transfer is essential, which i managed to botch on the efficient part! also my ale is hopped in secondary. anybody tried dry hopping the primary?
