Bought a pk of the above mentioned yeast and pitched it into a 1lt starter as per my usual routine, but 24hrs later and there is no activity at all in my starter. This is my first time using this particular yeast and was wondering if it's dead or is it just typical of this one? Any tips on...

Just make sure you dilute the fert properly, don't want to burn the roots.

Best advice i ever got was to buy a refractometer for OG readings, awesome bit of kit and you only need a couple of drops to take your measurement. As far as sediment providing resistance I would say yes if it was particularly cloudy, temp can also have a dramatic effect on hydrometer readings.

So I've got a delicious Oktoberfest that just hit terminal gravity and I want to free up my fermenting fridge to get another brew down. My question is can I lager my beer after it has been bottled or should I do it before bottling?

A Chugger or March pump would be ideal but being on a tight budget is pointing me towards the cheaper ones. As long as people are useing them and dont have any complaints.
