    Crankandstein Mill Crush Problem.

My Crankandstein 2A mill arrived this morning from Fred (took around 2 Weeks) and I have spent the last few hours playing with it. I made a temporary base and hopper from a piece of scrap plywood I had and a hopper from a 3 litre pop bottle, took about 30 minutes and I am tool challenged :ph34r...

    Ag Equipment Finished

Nice setup you have there mate, I am well jealous of your shiny kegs, mine are a bit "weathered" but will do the job no doubt. What size copper pipe do you guys use for the pick up in the kettle? At the moment I have 1/2 inch will that be big enough?

    Bottle Deep Clean?

Well 24 of the said bottles are now sitting in a large tub of warm water with a liberal dose of napisan, I would of done a few more but that was the biggest tub I own. I will leave them there for a few days and rinse scrub and repeat as needed. Funnily enough we had a saucepan at the back of...

    Bottle Deep Clean?

Last week I had a Stout sitting in secondary with no bottles to put it in, it had sat there for almost a Month while I tried to drink enough beer to make empties to start the process again. I was continually running out of bottles. All of a sudden I have more bottles than you could shake a...

    England Level Test Series

I suppose now is as good a time as any to crawl out from the woodwork and admit to being an ex pom myself, only lived in Australia a few Months :P We we're bloody lucky to win at the end though, your tail enders did better than your top order and Shane Warne, What a man! Bring on Old...

    First Ag....what To Do?

Yes I have a Nasa burner and was wondering about the evaporation rate this baby would produce. Do you turn it down once you have a rolling boil just to keep it rolling along and save some gas/evaporation or leave it on full bull?

    First Ag....what To Do?

I am liking the sound of this one, looks pretty straight forward for a first go and should test my system and process. When you say 95% pale ale malt I am guessing that would be around 4.75Kg with the 5% crystal making up the 250gms? Am I way off the mark here or would that be Ok with 12.5...

    Copper Soldering

Yes, I guess you are right. I just held mine by with a welding glove but I was holding the very bottom of the immersion coil about 6 or 7 metres of copper away from the flame, if you are doing a manifold or something smaller it is probably a good idea to use tongs, infact a better idea is to get...

Ah...Right  I feel like a racehorse ready to run a steeple chase but have not yet done any pole work. Mmmm...Maybe you are right, learn to walk before I can run etc I could think of a few more metaphors but just want to get brewing!!! Ok any good Pale Ale recipes out there :ph34r...

    Copper Soldering

I used my NASA to melt some solder for my IC between the 3/8 copper pipe and the push on brass hoselock fittings that my hose will clip onto. Did the job easily, just remember to wear a welders glove to hold the copper! :excl:

    First Ag....what To Do?

Great minds must think alike because that is the recipe I found on my searches and have decided to have a go it for my first effort. I know that first time around all will not go to plan I will have enough to worry about but I have downloaded promash and tried inputing this recipe (Start as you...

    First Ag....what To Do?

I have almost completed my AG setup and can see me cranking it up within the next few weeks but at this stage I have no idea what I will brew. I fancy trying an Irish red but after looking at various recipe's on the interweb it leaves me wondering how easily most of the grains could be obtained...

    Pasta Maker As Grain Mill?

Surely the only way to crack grain with a food processor is to bung it in and give it a blast. :beerbang: I don't think it would give the best results though.
