    Biab Brew Rig

I only brew every couple of weeks and when I do, the milk crates get dragged out, then my bench which goes on top, then my bricks to put on top, then the burner which sits on the bricks, drag out the gas cylinder and connect it, set up a small table alongside for utensils etc. etc. etc. Because...

    Grain Crush Too Fine Biab

Thanks for everyone's input. I must say I'm glad the replies I got were constructive and helpfull, not all about "search yourself, this question has been answered before!" I'm sure there are alot of sensible justified questions out there, that are not being answered because members are too...

    Grain Crush Too Fine Biab

Hi all, I am aware that when brewing traditionally, if your grain crush is too fine then you run the risk of a stuck sparge. If brewing via the BIAB method, would it matter that your crush was floury (floury, Is that a word?) Full volume would mean no sparge to get stuck. I have built my own...

    Homegrown Mill (nearly Finished)

Bizier, Apart from the slight wobble I get, the main difference with pipe would be that I reckon it's mild steel and the belt pulleys I have used are cast and won't flex/bend. TF

    Homegrown Mill (nearly Finished)

No torturing here, but I guess it does look a bit scary  The crack is great, both rollers aren't 100% cylindrical, so as a result I get a nice mix of partial and fully munched grain.

    Homegrown Mill (nearly Finished)

No danger of flexing, it's really solid. Last nights crush went well regarding clogging, no slipping whatsoever but maybe when doing a double batch and after more use, you might be right. :) TF

    Homegrown Mill (nearly Finished)

Thanks Chappo, but I have to give credit to my Dad also, as it was a joint effort. We started at about 8.30 am yesterday morning and poured the first beer at about 5.30 pm The plan took shape when I found the two 8" belt pulleys at a local antique/ secondhand shop. I then purchased some 7/8...

    Complete All-grain Brewery For Sale

Sorry to see you getting out of it, but top marks for having the guts to do it! I'm sure there are alot of brewers out there that sometimes wonder what the over indulging is doing to their health not to mention their waistlines! The obsessive purchasing of components for much $$ is a worry...

    2nd Ag Moss Trouble

Thanks to all that replied. Probably some little rouge ******* bug that got into my brew. Will put it down to experience. I am getting quicker at chilling my wort to pitching temp, so hopefully there will be less chance of nasties getting in before she is all sealed up. Tribalfish.
