I ruined a dark strong this way. Pitched the yeast from a 10l starter into the brew and got a flood of yeasty goop flowing out of the ferm fridge onto the laundry floor. Needless to say the housemates (non beer drinking girls) were not pleased. I had to take it out and put it in the laundry...

I got 2nd. Got a raven dispenser and a carbonator cap! Great service too.

I actually did get a lump of coal. All wrapped up and everything. Luckily I got a webber to go with it shortly after!

sunday night drunks. Why are there so many people online right now.

not sure if you are doing partial boils and taking samples from the top but if you are make sure you mix the wort really well. I haven had partial boil brews with low gravity until i really shake them up. Really really shake them for 10 mins or so.

I found that a length of beer line into a beer bottle half filled with sanitiser was easier to silence when my girlfriend stayed over. Just lift the tube above the water line overnight. It was more sanitary that way too!

So no chilling actually saves time on the boil as well? I can do a 40 min boil? Makes more sense. My cube beers have been a little bitter.

Did anyone else try the Prickly Moses summer ale? I tried it late in the night and tipped it. Just wondering if my untrained fatigued pallete was lying to me about it tasting pretty average. On another note. I really enjoyed the Arctic Fox APA, it had more going for it than a lot of the other...

The special beer Holgate was doing was called 'Ladyboy'. Or 'A Temptress with Nuts'. Just half half nut brown and their choc porter. Yum!

I really want to persist with using the cubes just because of convenience. I did some blind tastings with friends (that drink megaswill) last night against carlton draught and found most still preffered my plasticy helles. I think even after a few days out of the cube the taste is starting to...

I know I should have soaked it before use but I didnt. What I really want to know is if the taste will go away if anyone has made the mistake. I will let you know how my "Munich Helles vom Plastik" and my "English Polyethelene Mild" turn out.
