    Boil rate

Thanks Tavas. Controls are pretty good. I'll ease the off for the next one in a couple of weeks. I look up how to mark the pot for volumes. Be handy anyhow.

    Boil rate

Ok - I boiled off 10L in the hour. Aiming for 20L to the fermenter from 26L strike water and lucky if I 16L. You do boil with the lid off right?

Thanks - def boiling too hard.

    Boil rate

How rolling is your boil - it seems I managed to boil off 35% of volume in a 60 min boil. Had a very low efficiency as I still got the right gravity at the end of the boil. Using BIAB so may not have stirred enough at start of boil.

    Refractometer

Just done my first brew day with refractometer at hand. How freaking easy! Mine left no guess work Haven't used it during fermentation though.

    Fermenter To Keg Transfer

How do you keep the inside of your tube clean - I've cleaned and sterilised a couple before storing and they still get a little mould type growth in them - PITA to get a new metre each time. Seems that I'm missing something. Cheers

    First Biab Low Og

I have a similar problem - I'm making the recipe with only 2kg Aussie malt and POR. I know simple but wanted to try the process the first and produce at least something recognisable (apparently should taste like generic beer). I have an OG of 1.035. Should I add sugar (don't have any malt...

9 Litre Corny's 'cheapish?' And Mobile Setups

Happy to say that I ordered on the 25th April and received today, complete with little Warsteiner truck. They all look good, though I wouldn't know the difference. Got to get the rest of the gear organised now - though I had a little more time by some of the previous post. :D
