Options/ideas - sliding track for malt pipe hoist

I guess depends on your roof structure, room setup, weight you are lifting and bits and pieces. If there is a ceiling joist or some other structure in the roof you could possibly look at a barn door style perhaps? Do you have a picture of what you are trying to do?

Old large Keg query and using as fermenter

I just emptied a bit over 80L into it from boil kettle. There was still a bit of room in it for more! Monster keg. Well if nothing else I am thinking I can at least ferment 3 x 19L kegs worth at a time. I just don't want to have to move it once its full!

Thanks Mark, I have it all up and running - even holding pressure. Anyone off the top of their head know exactly how many litres this keg is?

Old large Keg query and using as fermenter

Hi Razz, I was thinking of screwing the Cross-T directly into the existing cap. It has 1" female thread on the cap. THe existing lid still has an o-ring. would need to check if it holds pressure of course.

Old large Keg query and using as fermenter

Hi All, I have inherited a lovely old keg. See attached photos. One is with it next to a 95L pot to give it a size comparison. From a brief search im guessing its 80L?? I am thinking of using it as a fermenter with a 'Cross' (). Anyone have experience in doing this? Thanks in advance Thor

Water Profile Hamilton Hill into Brewfather

Thanks Mark, See below. I can pull 5 of the 6 inputs directly from the report however bicarbonate isnt there. I am thinking of dividing the Alcalinity as CaCO3 by 1.22. Ref: CaCO3 * 1.22 = HC03? Thanks in advance. Thor

3V eRIMS + LPG system controller setup advice.

Hi Mark, Many thanks for sharing your thoughts. I share your thoughts with getting it running - gas for HLT with RIMS to get to strike temp, pump transfer to underlet mash. Mash is controlled by RIMS and then pump to BK which will be gas to start with. At this stage I only have simple PID...

3V eRIMS + LPG system controller setup advice.

Hi All, So I have been fortunate enough to have the attached system come into my hands. My father made the frame and bought all the equipment but then other projects have gotten in his way so he passed this onto me. While he has done all the hard work I have had to put together the final...
