Bintara [brewery Review] Good And Really Bad

hmmm, although I've never tried toejam I reckon you've hit the nail on the head. However, what do reckon causes that flavour!! And yes, I tried their beer in 2007 and had a similar experience. A real shame. B

Bintara [brewery Review] Good And Really Bad

During the Tastes of Rutherglen (VIC) weekend recently we took the option to sample the wares of Vintara winery which incorporates the Bintara brewery relocated from central Rutherglen to a lovely site out of town. The setting is great, the seating area is spacious with a good view of the...

    Bad Taste From Fermenter

I'm sure you are already doing this but just in case, always unscrew the tap and blast out any residual trub. I use a spray of phosphoric acid just to make sure. I had off flavours (soapy to my palate) develop after several months of successful brewing and then did the tap cleaning thing and...

Gas In Beer Line - Serious Problem

Well, after a few days of trying all the things suggested by the responses here, I reckon I (you) have found the solution! It appears that the regulator is stuffed and I was WAY overcarbonating the beer. I degassed the problem kegs completely and left them overnight, then attached a new reg...

Gas In Beer Line - Serious Problem

Yeah I know that temp can cause the problem, and line lenght, but I have been using the same system, same lines, same kegs for three years with no problem. Of course this means I've been using the same reg for three years and maybe it's finally stuffed. Gas in the line though still gets me. B

Gas In Beer Line - Serious Problem

Wow, thanks for all the responses - sorry for posting in the wrong thread. There doesn't seem to be any holes in the dip tube, and while it may be the reg, a similar problem is happening with my brother in law's set up (my kegs, but he bought an ebay reg!!). The other thing that makes me think...

Gas In Beer Line - Serious Problem

Absolutely frustrating. I pour from different taps - four main ones on a fridge and 8 "field" taps (portable systems) and the problem occurs on all lines/taps. Different kegs have the same problem but to a lesser or greater degree. I agree it could be due to other things, but I'll give the...

Gas In Beer Line - Serious Problem

Thanks heaps again everyone. I've got more helpful feedback in the last 30 minutes than I have with weeks of other forum postings. I'm going to purchase a couple of new dip tubes and see how it goes. Fingers crossed Cheers Ben

Gas In Beer Line - Serious Problem

Yes, it is truly weird. I've pulled out a couple of kegs just now that aren't in use and can't see any holes but will take to work and put under the microscope. I get the same problem with brand new disconnects. .

Gas In Beer Line - Serious Problem

Thanks heaps to everyone. It seems to affect all my kegs (I have 12), I am almost positive it's not a gas leak. If it was, gas would eventually leak out emptying my gas bottle and the problem would continue all the time - remember it seems to get better over 10 pours. I'm leaning toward the...

Gas In Beer Line - Serious Problem

I dispense at about 7 psi so it's not that. But yes, my only guess is that the dip tube is providing nucleation points - hence gas bubbles rise into the line. But am I the only person that this has ever happened to??

Gas In Beer Line - Serious Problem

No, thanks for the suggestion but it's not the answer. I've been doing exactly the same thing for three years and it's just started happening. Even if they were over carbonated, why would gas move up the beer line when all taps are closed?

Gas In Beer Line - Serious Problem

I have a serious problem with my keg set up. Any help HUGELY appreciated. Just recently I am getting gas bubbles in the beer line and when poured, I end up with a glass full of froth. To demonstrate, the video shows the bizarre problem. Other details that may help are: I've been...

    2006 Hop Plantations

Yes definitely not enough water. I put mine in at the right time, but little happened 'cause of the drought (I'm surrounded by bare wheat fields and starving sheep). Then some leaves started turning brown in the hot weather. After 5 months they are no taller than about 40 cm so I'm just...
