    Gasing 50 Litre Kegs

Hey Maark Please ignore my user name, if you look it shows you I was new to kegs in 2005. I've been using 50 litre CUB kegs for about 4 years now. I try to make a beer that is easy, yet tastes good. I drink Tooheys New when I can't drink my homebrew, so that gives you an idea of my taste. You...

New Outdoor Keg / Bar Setup - Need Advice

I started with the old tap out the fridge door setup, but actually found that the tap would take a few beers through it to cool it down, and that ended up being a hassle. Also wen I switched to 50l kegs I found I had to have another keg in another frdge for backup, coz if you 're blowing a few...

    Dubbo Brewers

Hey all, Just wondering if there are any Dubbo brewers on here looking to buy sell or swap? Due to us no longer having a home brew shop (Mitre 10 doesn't count!) I find that I mostly have to buy online. Anyhoo, I have a good fridge up for grabs, that easily fits a 50l keg, or 2 cornys in it...

    Leaking Beer Tap,

Hey guys. I'm having a similar problem with one of these taps. It's new & I installed it a week ago, and find that i need to have a fair bit of pressure behind it for it to seal, which in turn makes the beer too gassy. Sometimes you can close it half way through pouring a beer & it won't shut...

    Chest Freezer Set Up

RetshamsHsam I thought carbonating with sugar & force carbonating with CO2 were two completely different things - especially regarding the time difference between the two. Also, when you say it will take longer to force gas into the beer at room temperature, would this not render a temprite...

    Newbi Question

...and if you want REALLY high alcohol content, it's time to score yourself a stihl - looks like spirits are the direction for you!! (Can't get higher than 100% alcohol!!) :icon_cheers:

    Chest Freezer Set Up

mxd I can't see how a temprite can be used for home brew - if the keg is room temperature won't it release its CO2 and become flat with loads of pressure in the keg? Please explain..

    Newbi Question

adz... I remember when I first started brewing, many moons ago I wondered the same thing so I rang the hotline on the can & the chap on the other end told me that if I add more than 2 kilos of sugar it will start to affect the taste. So I added the 2 kilos, and when the brew was ready I would...

    Chest Freezer Set Up

Thanks for your input guys. Yeah its the 50l kegs I want to use, and I hope the floor is strong enough, because I want to have 2 in there!! The wheel around & decant is a great idea!! I guess I could just sit the full keg outside the freezer & pump it into the keg inside with a bit of co2...

    Chest Freezer Set Up

G'day all! I am thinking about going from my current typical fridge-with-a tap-out-the-door setup to a chest freezer set up and have a few question to ask before I commit. I don't really want to put the font on the lid of the freezer, but want to run a line or two out the side wall or back of...

    Somebody Please Help Me!

Hello fellow brewers, My dilemma is as follows: My father in law lent me a pluto gun on the weekend, and as I was cleaning it for him prior to returning it I dropped the tiny little olive that holds the hose in it. I'm buggered if I can find it, so I scoured the internet to see how much a new...

    Carbonating 50l Kegs

I've been using 50l kegs for a little while now for homebrew and find the gassing step is about the same as a 19l keg. I put the prurged keg in the fridge for at least 24 hours, then gas at about 300kpa for a good 10 - 12 hours. I tend to keep the pouring pressure low and turn it off most of the...
