Whats The Worst Beer You've Ever Tried?

The 'real ales' tend to be quite sensitive over here travelling short distances so a trip down under, well, you'll be lucky to get it close to the intended article (kegs that is) but for the record Greene King do struggle to produce ales that taste of anything anyway. And to the previous poster...

    Bulk Priming

About 15% less. Using the online calculator above compared to the HBD bulk priming article I get a 15g more with the latter, probably not enough to make a massive difference but I would rather that bit extra just in case.

    Heather Ale

Funny you should mention that (great thread by the way all), I watched a program a few months back mentioning an hallucinogenic heather growing in Scotland, did a quick google and found this: Heather topic Irrespective of where you sourced your heather it sounds like you might have had an...

    Whats In The Glass (commercial)

Too true but at least there is plenty of choice when you are down the pub (depending on your pub!). Quite a list, at this point in time I've taken to avoiding the Greene King and Wadworth brands as a general rule (the Greene King IPA is ditchwater) and am currently enjoying the Jubilee edition...

    Whats In The Glass (commercial)

My wife and I popped over the pond to Brugges for a weekend recently and realised just how little time that is to try and sample 1 million different Belgian beers. Luckily I found this golden 3-grain beauty in the pile: Toured De Halve Maan brewery while we were there and visited the only pub...

    Hop Freshness?

Cheers Kev, I think I will put this one to the test tomorrow when I brew my IPA, I've got Target and EKG (flowers/cones) opened 6 months ago and only used the once so I will share my results (hopefully they'll be good...) The vac sealer is a good idea and I'm on the lookout at the moment...

    Kit And Extract Beer Spreadsheet

Without trawling back through the previous 20 pages, could anyone enlighten me to a quick and easy way of transferring recipes from an older version to this latest one?

Wine Takes Hold As Beer Gets Coldie Shoulder

http://www.smh.com.au/executive-style/top-...0118-19vd1.html Thought this may be of interest. What I fail to understand is how wine is exempt from the alcohol tax? Also are these statistics based solely on the commercial breweries and which category do the craft brewers fall under, commercial...

    Keeping Fermenter Fridge Cool?

I only just got this today, it is a great looking little unit but I'm a ways off wiring it up just yet. If you look around this forum you should find the info you're after but if you're not confident with that stuff find an expert that will do it for a case of your finest. Just thought I'd add...

With free postage from Hong Kong that is ridiculously cheap, God bless the Chinese and their inexpensive workforce ;)

    Whats In The Glass (commercial)

Picked up some Barons Pale Ale on special on Friday, from memory it had been pretty average tasting but I thought I'd give it another go. Having read some previous comments from earlier this year underwhelmed by this one I'm guessing they may have fine tuned their recipe a bit because I'm really...

Put Yeast In At 32c !

Josh I did much worse. First brew (Coopers K&K) I pitched at +40C (will never know the exact temp, was off the scale). What looks to have happened in hindsight is the yeast sat on top of the foam kicked up from adding the water to the fermenter just long enough for me to realise I'd not read the...
