I too am interested in a tilt type digital hydromenter. I usually dry hop up to 250 grams using strong magnets. What effect to magnets in close proximity have on accuracy and signal strength?
I'm about to try a new k&k recipe that calls for 200gm of maltodextrin. I've been warned off using maltodextrin due to odd chemical flavours so is there a good substitute? Steeped Cara Pils has been suggested. Does anyone agree & if so, how much should I add to 23 liters?

Yes that's a good idea, where the barrel has some strength. We'll try to get a grip on the fermenter with a wet beach towel next time and if that doesn't work I'll be back to the workshop.
