    'battle Of The Toucans'

And don't forget to apologize to the families of the AG'ers who died of heart attacks after reading the post

    Pilsener

IMHO the brew has stalled. FG should be well less than 1010. Temperature? Hopefully you used the Saaz hops. They are a belter!!! :chug:

Kids, Don't Try This At Home!

Mate I still haven't got my garage/workshop/brewery/shed/doghouse/hangar up yet. SWMBO has claimed our spare room for a pampered cat, and we still have one freeloader at home. :( No room mate. On the pension, how about donating several thousand (no receipts issued) to the Brooksy...

    What's Your Dog Called

We have 4 dogs, 2 Poms, a Pom X Jack Russell and a Blue Cattle X Foxy (bitch). Dawson, Tigre (as in Winnie the Pooh tales), PJ and Pheobe. All are inside dogs and spoiled incredibly by SWMBO.

    'battle Of The Toucans'

No worries at all Pete, but I like my Liver right where it is, not floating down the sewer  Any idea on the ABV increase? I really can't see that its flavour would have any impact at all over the malts used. Perhaps in a single kit brew the flavour would be prominent, but a toucan? Ok...

Kids, Don't Try This At Home!

As Wasabi said, or get a couple of wood heater tiles for a base. I put a couple in the oven to cook pizzas on. Work well. Cheap as well. I'm jealous you are moving to AG....... Coz I ain't got the room....

    'battle Of The Toucans'

As supplied, the Tooheys Dark Ale definitely shows potential, but I really think the addition of the DB Sugar was (sort of) a waste of money, considering you end up with about 5.5%ABV without it. Haven't used Perle so I cannot comment, but interesting to see that the Cascade (love 'em) came...

    Nice Rich Stout.

I'm in favour of the Coopers Stout toucan but..... It MUST be left at least 8 weeks after bottling before drinking. Early consumption harshness is prevalent but after 8 weeks of bottle conditioning the taste and balance are brilliant, and gets better with age. Brew these during the warmer...

    Advice Needed

I wouldn't have a clue about the mini mash, but I'd be inclined on a hops sched of: 15 @ 30 15 @ 10 10 @ 00 to ensure a good flavour and adding bitterness to balance your mini mash additions.

New To Beer Making, Just A ? Using Coopers Kits Yeast And Temps

Welcome mate, You're doing ok but to Coopers kits (I do a lot of them because they are pretty much all that are available to me) add at least 1/2 a pound (250gms) of light dry malt extract along with 1kg dextrose or lme. To dissolve the dme, bring about 2 litres of water to the boil and remove...

    Is It Possible

I vote with Brewer_010 mate. For a festive occasion make sure your HB is properly matured otherwise you could undo all your hard work so for.

    Hops In K And K

Geeze, be careful jumping the fence Brewer, it's high enough to cause injury........ A little bit of nutrient can do wonders mate. Qtr teaspoon per can if using a good yeast. Half a tspn per can if using kit yeast.

    Hops In K And K

Doing your hops as you have, I believe would've given you the aroma. Did you SG when transferring to secondary? Taste your sample and that will prove/disprove infection. Personally, I'd bank on no infection, because the Cascade have a very nice flavour and aroma. If you don't want to boil the...
