    A Quick Oztops Question

You shouldn't have a problem with adding an extra 1/2 cup of sugar to a 1.25L bottle... I did the same thing, no problem at all...The directions say you can add up to a cup of sugar per 2L... only thing I can think it would be is not enough head space, not enough surface area on the top of the...

    Cooling Fermentor

I use about 3 1.25L bottles per day, I keep 4 in the freezer on rotation, I'm in qld, and it keeps it pretty well at 18deg. I've found the 40L tub to be a good size as it fits the fermenter in easily, but doesn't take up too much space. I haven't had problems with condensation or mould either.

    Cloudy Beer

mine was cloudy when I bottled it, but a few weeks in the bottle and it cleared up nicely.... yours should do the same..... just have to wait for all the yeast and small bits and pieces to settle ...

    Cooling Fermentor

I use a 40L black plastic tub I got from the warehouse for $7... and I use 1.25 coke bottles, I've put salt in it... don't know if it does anything, but it stops people taking them for drink bottles, and I change it 3 times a day... keeps it all around 18 deg, hasn't gotten higher than 22deg...

    Label Templates

I don't know of any templates, but its dead easy to make your own with Inkscape, or gimp. They're both free programs, just google them to find where to download them from. It took me about 5 min to make my first label, its nothing complex, but looks cool enough.... You could always google beer...

    Cooling Fermentor

I've got a brew fermenting in a bath of water to keep the temp down, and its working great. If you're worried about bugs put something in the water that will kill them. I just used the milton I sanitised the fermenter with to fill the container I'm using for the water bath. That way I don't have...

Fermenting In A Jerry Can? (or Similar)

If I need to clean something that I can't reach with my hands, or a cloth, I use a handful of rice... I mostly use it for baby bottles and stuff, but I don't see why it shouldn't work in this case if you put it in with some nappysan.... just put at bit of water nappysan and a good handful of...

    Ciders

The apple/mango one is looking pretty grose... but I'll just strain the goop off and drink it anyway. The bottles have gone all nice and hard, can see them starting to carbonate. I can't wait to try them... The yeast the comes with the oztops is a wine yeast... well at least one of them is...

    Ciders

Thanx for the heads up... I haven't used any pulpy juice yet... and now I definately won't... Just got tetra pack ones from the isles, and a couple of bottles of plain apple juice, all very clear, except the one with mango is a little cloudy...

    That Fruity Taste/smell.

Thanx heaps for that... I'm doing the water and bottles of ice thing, and am keeping my current brew around 18deg (well the water the brew is sitting in and the water is level with the brew so I'm guessing it will be close to that temp too)... its fermenting alot slower than the last one, which...

    Label Making

Gimp is great, I use it all the time. I'm in the process of starting a screen printing business and use it for almost all my art work, another free program that is good is Inkscape. I made a few labels last night, nothing fancy, but only took a couple of minutes each. You can do some really cool...
