Spent Grain Bread

Spent Grain Bread

That looks rather nice. How did you make it and what was it like to eat?

Same thoughts here too. I dont eat much bread so when I do this may be the best that I cant buy. Its the husks that put me off but then again its fibre that most people lack.
Hpal thanks for the inspiration.
Can you share a little of the recipe method?

Hey guys, I got the recipe here http://snappyservicecafe.com/homebrewed-to-home-baked-spent-grain-bread/
It turned out ok for a first try. A little doughy for my liking but my wife likes it and it toasts up well, I could have left it in a bit longer I think. Next time I'd probably use 1.5 cups spent grain, add some wort for the yeast to consume and rise the bread, and maybe use bakers yeast (I used brewing yeast). All in all a fair effort. What I'm doing at the moment is growing up a sourdough starter culture and attempting sourdough bread making, got the starter done and I'll try a loaf in the morning, fingers crossed!

that sounds awesome! I might pull my sourdough culture out and give this a go.
