Do you find the insulated pipes give you a noticeable benefit with respect to temps? I would think that the stainless steel pots would lose much more heat that the silicon pipes.
I haven't tried them without to be honest. Mash tun is actually insulated anyway. I worry that my RIMS tube is a huge source of heat loss and will be insulating it in future, although once at temp the system has no issues maintaining it. But faster ramp times would be ideal.
Thought about insulating the kettle, but my boils are plenty strong and it's a hell of a lot easier to clean any spillage which I can't seem to avoid once I've had a few pints
