Won't go weldless on a ss vessel mate. If you are very lucky and have no leak, well, assembling and disassembling multiple times will get you sometime, get a socket welded on. Much simpler.
 
Also, thread tape on those threads. You'd thank yourself when pulling them apart. They cold weld together without it.
 
It leaked a tiny tiny bit first go, tightened it and second brew no leak. Not planning on removing the assembly through the wall, just the valve when it needs an overhaul clean (I no chill so less concerned about cleaning religiously). Might get it welded one day, but might not be before I upgrade to 3V haha :p

I also do have thread tape, the photos are from my initial test. Got the heavy duty blue teflon on it!
 
Not a worry mate, I'm suffering from weldless on my aluminium basket / pot from trying to keep it 1v. I've had had ss welded in all past breweries and this leaking caper is annoying.

But then, when it boils over :p the leak feels insignificant...
