Why is it that you can spend days tweaking recipes, go buy specific ingredients to make beers you think you will float you boat... and then you feel stocks are dwinding so you throw down a basic as hell quaffer only to find it trumps the lot

Not complaining, just observing

Always seems to be the way, think some Irish chap named Murphy has a bit to do with it.
 
Its all about the grin factor some beers have it some don't and its not always something you can factor into the recipe tweaking.
