There's a guy at the Chandler markets here in Brisbane who hires them out. He supplies the keg and the beer I think. It seemed expensive when I saw it but I can't remember the price...

I'd love one though :)

guaranteed hit of the party if you walked in with one of those!!

As a side note, im about to start on kegging and it made me wonder if i had a co2 bottle for the keg and the wheely bin was full of ice and i stored the co2 bottle in there to would it be a problem? would the co2 ice up or anything?

sorry if thats a stupid question but there is only 2 ways to find out, ask or do it .. and asking seemed a better option :D

No problem with ice etc. The bottle never gets cold. Not enough gas comes out.

But don't ever get the regulator wet. It's a gonner if you do.

Bloody great idea. You could arrive with it full of keg and ice ready to go and just wheel it down you mates driveway !!

Late edit: if you want a gas option for a party use the hand held device on ebay (small CO2 cylinder, Cream whipper type but CO2) less that $40. You can gas up the keg at home over a few days. Load it up in the bin with ice and drive it over to the party. Dispense with the handheld thingy.

On that. What's would be wrong with a Gas_in gas line and a bike value. Yes it's air not CO2 but for a party what would it matter if the beer is consumed in the one night. It wouldn't have time to go off.

i think a couple of people from the forum have done this, check out there ideas in the Party Keg thread...

They are great for parties.
Mine comes out annually for a few big drinking sessions with my family over the summer.
I get 2 kegs in this one as it is a bit smaller
I just tie the gas bottle to the back so it can't fall over and fill it with frozen 2 ltr milk containers (if you fill with ice/water the kegs float up and out towards the end).

^^^ Got any pics of the inside setup there Lukes?

I'm wondering how expensive the bins are new. The ones in the photo at top are obviously not your average council ones... the colours....

Bonj,
Bunnings stock a range of sizes.

Well how 'bout that... am heading down there this week anyway... although I've got no money left after buying the March pump...

Fents,
Nothing really on the inside, just enough beer line to balance it and a couple of disconnects.
As Kong said there are a few more members with more elaborate designs on this site (somewhere)

Here is a link to a bin seller in Melbourne.

I pinched mine from the rental house next door a few tenants back

Devious plans are afoot... and i dont even have my kegs yet :p

I was at bunnings today and saw the smaller ones for $105... large enough to fit a corny and associated plumbing and cooling gear... I had thought about this a month or so ago, but i'd rather spend that money on another keg ATM....

Guys,

I have gone the other way. I have got one of those large green garden bins.

Cutting a hole in the lid for a bronco tap (cheap as from Ross) and having a Soda Stream bottle to dispense. Should have it up and unning (with photos) in about a week.

Cheers,

Reece

Actually you can get 2 kegs in the smaller ones. But it does push them a long way out of square, so you need to make an oversized lid to match.
