Hey all, quick one - not sure if this was a fluke or if anyone has seen it before and knows where I went a bit wrong.
My brew yesterday went well, but after whirlpool (done by hand with a long spoon) - instead of the normal cone or mound of trub in the middle of the pot, I had a weird donut-like trub which also seemed to be sitting highish in the wort...it was large - maybe with a few cm of clear wort around the outside and a 5cm kind of vortex of clear wort in the middle, a bit like the opposite of how it should be.
To give a bit more info, I did wait for a while before whirlpool - I can only guess the temp was down to somewhere like 55-70C maybe? Has anyone seen the weird shape before? I ended up just chucking break and all into the FV in the end - but I'd like to know if I just stirred too slow this time or if it could have been the temp
Cheers,
