Hi all

I bought a new 260 L chest freezer today as I broke my beer fridge last night. It has an adjustable thermo on it and all the instruction booklet said was it comes at setting 4 which is -18deg, 1 is warmer and 7 is colder. I have turned it straight to 1. Has anyone else done this and will the freezer do its job and freeze or sit just above freezing level.I gues only time will tell but just wanted some feedback on this issue, and hopefully i dont have to buy a fridgemate.

Thanks

1. It will depend on what brand and model it is, every brand and model is different.

2. Put a bottle of water in there, wait and see.

get a fridgemate.

thank me (and yourself!) later.

seriously, probably the best bit of brewing kit ive got so far. cant imagine brewing in summer again without one.

i agree with that!
plus i like to see what temp the fridge is at from across the room.

As a guess i would say, 1 would be around -10 to -12 ish and 7 would be flat out, down to -25 or so
